The village punk has become a city dweller, but not a happy one. Michael Sonntag is an art student who hates art. At night, he roams the bars of Hamburg's Reeperbahn, and during the day, he kills time nursing a hangover, writing poetry, or visiting his psychologist – life is an insult to him. His only hope is the woman across the street, who gives him hauntingly beautiful looks. "Moments of Meaninglessness" tells the story of everyday life in the waiting loop of existence.
