The Eifel in the 1980s: The village where Adam lives with his family is long past its prime. Tired of rural life, the adolescent is looking for something new this summer, an adventure, his first love, something to distract him from the stifling stuffiness of his homeland. In his search, he comes across a derelict factory site that seems to attract him in a morbid way - the "Dying City". But what he doesn't realise in this exciting phase of growing up between new acquaintances and love affairs is that this summer will shape his future more than he could have imagined.
