Sterben als Zumutung? Über den gesellschaftlichen Umgang mit dem Tod

Dying and death are an imposition for the living, as two qualitative studies impressively show. For healthy siblings whose brother or sister is seriously ill and is being cared for in palliative care, both stress factors and resources and coping strategies can be identified. For people mourning the deceased father, mourning processes can be reconstructed, which are influenced by the type of relationship with the father during his lifetime, but also by societal and family norms. The results indicate a preference for qualitative research designs and a mandate for social work.
