With the reissue of these three volumes, more classics of steam locomotive literature are once again available. The three volumes cover very different topics: Volume 5 deals with private railway locomotives that were taken over by the Deutsche Reichsbahn (DR) before 1945, Volume 6 focuses on private railway locomotives that were incorporated into the DR's fleet after 1945, and the seventh volume covers the tenders of the locomotives. Supplemented by technical data, photos, and sketches, the steam locomotives and their tenders are presented based on their development history, operational performance, and design features.
