How can we inspire students in the subject of history and convey the content of the lessons in a way that goes beyond mere cognitive understanding? How do we deal with a highly diverse learning group? Station-based learning makes modern history teaching possible, as it allows students to engage in self-directed, self-structured, and cooperative learning. The introduction briefly explains the method of station-based learning and its practical implementation in the classroom. In the practical section of the book, four topics—Greece, Rome, Travel in Antiquity, and Social Classes—are presented in a motivating way for the students. Through six to eight mandatory stations, along with various additional stations, students are guided into each topic. By employing creative text work, a product-oriented approach, and numerous opportunities for differentiated instruction, we can effectively support the heterogeneous learning group.
