A divided galaxy, a Jedi Master trapped in enemy territory – and a desperate rescue plan. The beginning of the third phase of the High Republic.

The galaxy is divided. The terrible Nihil have erected an impenetrable barrier behind which they raid, plunder, and devastate. Even together, the Jedi and the Republic's forces cannot break through the border. Meanwhile, Jedi Master Avar Kriss is trapped in Nihil territory, doing her best to protect the victims of the Nihil. But despair spreads on both sides of the border, and when hope dies, the last chance to reunite the galaxy also fades away.

"The Eye of Darkness" is the beginning of the third phase of the High Republic and continues the story from the first phase. The first phase of the High Republic:
