Who and what has shaped the children's and young adult literature scene in the past decade? Nine conversations with contemporary authors Zoran Drvenkar, Kirsten Boie, Andreas Steinhöfel, Paul Maar, Klaus Kordon, Anja Tuckermann, Karen-Susan Fessel, Susan Kreller, and Salah Naoura provide insights into the development of children's and young adult literature after 2010. The interviews are entertaining and engaging self-descriptions of the interviewees. They convey an immediate impression of the aesthetic individuality of each author's writing style and explore common themes shared by both the authors and the field of children's and young adult literature studies. In particular, the focus is on the media diversification of the children's and young adult literature market in the 21st century and the question of the political implications of writing for children and young adults.
