The selection of the present cases is based on the experiences gained in the extensive field of statutory obligations, which we accumulated during our studies through lectures, term papers, and exams. We have now deepened these experiences as correction assistants and seminar leaders, as well as through numerous discussions with other legal professionals. Additionally, the many suggestions received from students in response to the first edition of the book were incorporated into the selection. The aim of this casebook is to present the fundamental principles of statutory obligations through selected standard scenarios and to delve deeper into specific aspects. The deliberately memorable cases are not only intended for entertainment but also stem from the daily experience that it is often the extraordinary that sticks in the memory. However, the legal issues that are successfully addressed in some seminars and exams are also of significance.
