In a proven manner, the new edition of Part 2 presents the design and construction of columns and special areas of reinforced concrete construction, along with their backgrounds and specific, detailed application examples. It also takes into account the building regulations introduced standard DIN EN 1992-1-1 (Eurocode 2) (2011) with the associated national annex NA (2013), the A1 amendment (2015), as well as the explanations for this standard in DAfStb publication 600 (2020). Furthermore, it incorporates the DAfStb publications 630 'Design according to DIN EN 1992 in the limit states of load-bearing capacity and serviceability' (2018) and 631 'Tools for determining internal forces and special detail verifications in reinforced concrete structures' (2019), which resulted from the complete revision of DAfStb 220 and 240. All example calculations are carried out in accordance with the aforementioned standards. This new edition is aimed at both students of civil engineering and practicing engineers.
