The central topic of the book is the fundamentals of the design and construction of components and connections for steel structures. For the 6th edition, European standardisation, new verification methods and the current state of the art have been taken into account.
The focus is on the basic Eurocodes for the design and construction of steel structures: DIN EN 1993-1-1 "General design rules and rules for building construction" and DIN EN 1993-1-8 "Design of connections".
In addition, there are significant additions to the 5th edition on the topics of stability and load-bearing safety verifications for crane runway girders.
The book contains numerous calculation examples that show the application of the design and construction rules as well as the implementation of load-bearing capacity verifications in detail. In addition to many examples on individual key topics, static calculations for two hall structures are also dealt with in an overall context. This textbook is designed for students at technical colleges, universities and universities of applied sciences as well as for engineers working in construction practice.
