Eugen Huber hört Rudolf von Jhering

Rudolf von Jhering has significantly influenced German-speaking jurisprudence in various ways. He is one of the few jurists who invented new legal concepts: the terms "culpa in contrahendo" and "juristische Sekunde" were newly introduced and popularized by him. In the first edition of "Obligationenrechts Allgemeiner Teil," Eugen Bucher wrote in 1979: "The legal concept of culpa in contrahendo (c.i.c.) was developed by Rud. von Jhering and has subsequently had a decisive impact on the development of law." The young Eugen Huber attended lectures by Jhering in Vienna in 1872 and 1873. In particular, Huber was deeply impressed by Jhering's understanding of property law. Many insights from the lectures in Vienna were later incorporated into the Swiss Civil Code.
