Stabilization, Safety, and Security of Distributed Systems

The book "Stabilization, Safety, and Security of Distributed Systems" documents the proceedings of the 10th International Symposium on this topic, which took place from November 21 to 23, 2008, in Detroit, Michigan, USA. The event has its roots in a workshop established in 1989 and has since evolved into a significant forum for discussing self-stabilizing systems. The conference addresses a wide range of topics related to stability, safety, and challenges in distributed systems, including peer-to-peer networks, wireless sensor networks, and mobile ad-hoc networks. This year, 43 submissions were received from 13 countries, with the majority coming from the USA and France. The submitted papers were carefully reviewed by a program committee, and for the first time, there was a phase in which authors could respond to the evaluations. From the 43 submissions, 17 outstanding papers were selected for presentation.
