Anne Lill Kvam's passion for working with dogs began in 1986 when she trained her own dog for search and rescue services. After successfully completing her trainer education with Turid Rugaas, she has been working full-time as a dog trainer since 1996. From 1997 to 2000, she was commissioned by the aid organization Norwegian Peoples Aid in Angola to train mine detection dogs. There, she was responsible for training the dogs and their handlers and overseeing the mine clearance operations. Since her return, she has become a sought-after speaker both domestically and internationally and runs her own dog school in Norway. Her specialty is scent work. Few other areas of work allow dogs to express their instincts and natural abilities within a framework that is desired and accepted by their owners. The result is balanced, content dogs in a well-coordinated team with their humans. Through the intensive collaboration between dog and owner during work, many dog owners have developed a new understanding of their four-legged companions and their unique abilities. This book presents various training options in the field of search work and guides readers step by step through an exercise program that leads to the desired training goal with creativity and joy.
