Product details

With the high-level language STEP 7-SCL (Structured Control Language), clear and maintainable programs for complex automation tasks can be written. SCL is based on the ST (Structured Text) language of the IEC 61131-3 standard. In this workshop, the fundamentals of SCL will be developed through simple practical examples. The focus is on reusing program blocks. The tasks and exercises can be worked on with STEP7 from V12 in the TIA Portal and tested using the PLC simulation PLCSIM from V12. If WinCC Advanced is installed, plant simulations can also be used. This book is aimed at PLC programmers as well as students in vocational high schools, technical schools, and universities who want to learn programming with SCL in the TIA Portal. Basic knowledge of the structure and function of a PLC is advantageous but not strictly necessary. The 4th edition has been expanded to include new programming capabilities of the TIA Portal V18. Through the free online service InfoClick, templates and solutions can also be downloaded for the CPU 1200 and plant simulations.
