The book covers schedule management, based on the matrix of individual planning services of the HOAI performance profiles. It follows the AHO performance profile of the DVP. Schedule planning and progress control are the most important components. Schedule management is one of the three pillars of construction project management: costs, schedules, quality, and quantities. Schedule management is part of the core knowledge of a project manager as well as the involved object planners. Knowledge of scheduling software is far from sufficient for understanding schedules, as planning for planning is a prerequisite for serious schedule management - this is described here. The similar structure of the HOAI performance profiles for object planners, along with the included phase division, allows for a matrix-like structure of individual planning services.
