The volume addresses coalitions, cooperations, and alliances between the Union and the Greens - once the political opposites of the party system - which have now evolved from exotic exceptions to 'normal' alliances. At the municipal level, this has become a well-established cooperation model. Even though some political observers began to declare the end of the Black-Green coalition after the premature failure of two state governments, a look at Hesse shows just how relevant this coalition model still is. The volume brings together various theoretical, conceptual, and empirical contributions to this political alliance from both a retrospective and a forward-looking perspective.
