The editors and authors of this festschrift honor a jurist, scholar, and university lecturer who has significantly contributed to the ecological and international development of environmental law. The focus is on the legal requirements for the protection of biodiversity, the use of the sea as a natural food source and for aquaculture, the recent reform of nature conservation and water law, as well as CCS as a new climate protection technology. Additional contributions address marine spatial planning, the Alpine Convention, the need for reform in environmental administration, and sustainable consumption in light of consumer policy and law. The festschrift reflects a significant part of Detlef Czybulka's scholarly work through its thematic breadth. It also offers concrete solutions to current challenges in marine nature conservation law, biodiversity preservation, and climate protection.
