Chronic pain

A life without pain - the dream of many suffering pain patients for whom pain is part of everyday life and pushes itself to the center of existence. The first section of the book provides theoretical knowledge on the topic of pain and somatoform disorders, including DSM-V classification, and describes the most important clinical pictures. In the second section, the authors present both conventional and complementary pain therapy, as well as psychotherapeutic options in their diversity, but also in their commonalities. Interdisciplinary and multimodal should not just be buzzwords, but rather represent a concept that, with humanity, expertise, and non-judgmental collaboration among all parties involved, helps patients individually to lead a fulfilling life. For patients for whom there is no possibility of improvement or healing, this is crucial.
