Product details
We do everything to prevent one thing from happening: we do not want to fail. But what does it even mean to fail? And who determines that? Does failure only show us our limits, or does it also point us to new paths? What new perspectives can we gain through failure? And what does failure have to do with empathy? In the current issue of SPRING magazine, 14 illustrators share stories from everyday life and relationships, about evolution and ecological collapse. They ponder who catches us when we fail and illustrate the pain, fear, but also the relief after a fall. They depict pioneers of failure and show what Marie Kondo, Christopher Columbus, and capitalism have to do with it. The illustrator group SPRING was founded in 2004 in Hamburg. Since then, a new volume of the anthology has been published every summer, bringing together various works from the fields of comics, illustration, and free drawing on a specific theme. The group has exclusively consisted of women since its inception and has become a solid and important network for female artists in Germany. "SPRING has long been one of the best and most interesting German-language comic anthologies." (Barbara Buchholz, Tagesspiegel).
