Sporttherapie bei Schlaganfallpatienten

In Germany, approximately 250,000 people suffer a stroke each year. Those affected often experience lasting disabilities, ranging from cognitive impairments to motor difficulties and physical disabilities. The rehabilitation measures in outpatient stroke aftercare aim to help individuals regain independence and improve mobility in daily life. On a motor level, sports therapy measures have been proven to yield good results. Since not only motor skills but also the cognition of stroke patients are affected, it is important to address the limitations in the cognitive performance of those affected. This work takes advantage of the positive influence of sports and exercise on the motor skills of stroke patients, as well as the beneficial effects of cognitive training on cognitive parameters, and poses the question of whether a combination of these two therapeutic measures leads to positive effects on motor performance after a stroke.
