Sports psychology is emerging as a dynamically developing discipline at the intersection of psychology and sports science. It deals with human experience and action in the complex field of sports and movement. One area of interest is how athletic performance can be optimized. However, this view of traditional sports psychology would be limited if topics related to sports and health, as well as the social-psychological effects of sports and movement, were not also included in the focus of the subject. This textbook aims to address these aspects primarily concerning empirical-experimental foundations and in relation to the international state of research. Internationally recognized authors present empirical-experimental foundations of individual topics related to perception and attention, as well as motor learning, across 12 chapters.
