He has long been a Western legend: Durango, the true lonesome cowboy who prefers to shoot rather than talk for long. When he first appeared on the scene, he was almost a latecomer. John Wayne was already six feet under, and the Italian Western had already plowed through the prairie. You can see it in Durango: His debut owes a lot to the two Sergios, Leone and especially Corbucci. But by then, both had already packed their saddlebags and moved on.
