Spiralsocken

Knitting expert Bernd Kestler presents 36 knitting projects for spiral socks in his first German book. The spiral sock technique is based on an American sock patent from the 1920s: the army spiral socks. At that time, soldiers' wives were called upon to knit wool socks without heels – this allowed the socks to adjust around the foot with each wear, and the wool did not wear out as quickly. Bernd Kestler has reinterpreted this concept and designed 36 colorful patterns for knitted socks using the spiral technique. The hand-knitted socks are all knitted in rounds as tubes, automatically adapting to all foot sizes. All the knitted socks are designed as unisex socks and can be knitted for adults and children without size conversion. Thanks to the spiral technique, all projects are suitable for both beginner and advanced knitters – beginners can easily knit their first pair of socks without the heel, while advanced knitters will learn a whole new technique for sock knitting with Bernd Kestler's designs.
