Anja Stahmann

Anja Stahmann, born on June 30, 1967, in Bremerhaven, is a German politician from the Alliance 90/The Greens party. Since June 30, 2011, she has been the Senator for Social Affairs, Children, Youth, and Women of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen and was previously a member of the Bremen Parliament from 1999. Stahmann grew up in Bremerhaven and completed her Abitur there. She studied social sciences at the University of Göttingen from 1986 to 1992 and graduated as a Diplom-Social Scientist. She also completed additional training as a theater educator and therapist. In 1992, she became a youth education officer at the Nature Friends Youth Bremen. Additionally, she works freelance as a theater educator. She is married and the mother of two daughters.
