In this workbook, children engage with topics such as nouns, capitalization of nouns and at the beginning of sentences, word roots, word components, word families, and derivations (consonant hardening and umlauts), long and short vowels (including the regular spelling of "ie"), and word separation. Additionally, they practice reflection and memorization words with selected spelling features, including double vowels and consonants, "ck," "tz," spellings "Eu/eu," "V/v," "X/x," "chs," and "ss," as well as the lengthening "h." Another focus is on recurring tasks for methodically correct copying. The word selection in the third workbook has been adapted to the current basic vocabulary of all federal states. All workbooks in this series (Spelling 1-4) thus fully take into account the binding basic vocabularies.
