Introduction to Analysis 1

The focus of this first part of the two-volume introduction to analysis is on differential and integral calculus for functions of a real variable. Written in a didactically skillful and particularly understandable manner, the work is also suitable for self-study, and even for use by mathematically interested students. No special prior knowledge is expected beyond familiarity with school mathematics. Theories are illustrated with many examples; exercises and solutions facilitate the acquisition of the material. In this second edition, some illustrations have been redesigned and the text has been expanded in certain places, for example, in the introduction of Cauchy sequences and uniform continuity.
