Spacecraft Operations

The book "Spacecraft Operations" provides a comprehensive introduction to the fundamental concepts of space operations, for both manned and unmanned missions. It covers the essential subsystems of a spacecraft in dedicated chapters and explains the relationship between spacecraft design and the unique environment of space. The topics of flight dynamics and ground operations requirements are discussed in detail. Additionally, missions are divided into various phases, including preparation, which also encompasses management aspects, as well as execution and planning. Special cases such as deep space missions and the use of space robots are also addressed. The book is based on a course conducted at the German Aerospace Center.
