Sociocultural development between research and practice opens up methodological approaches to the social and spatial organisation of our coexistence.
This anthology sheds light on the role of a socio-spatial and socio-cultural approach in shaping local communities and presents nine articles on projects dedicated to process design in urban and neighbourhood development, public space, intergenerational coexistence and civil society.
Based on the process aspects of "participation", "mediation" and "stabilisation", the focus is on three important fields of action of socio-spatial and socio-cultural development processes, which are illustrated by a broad spectrum of application-oriented and interdisciplinary research projects. The nine articles illustrate and reflect on the applied context-sensitive methodological approaches. The focus of the project presentations is on the examination of specific social and spatial contexts that characterise the use of certain methods. The publication also contributes to the clarification of the basic conceptual terms socioculture, participation and social space and emphasises the importance of social space-sensitive and sociocultural approaches through the use of participatory methods.
The book serves as a guide for practitioners, academics, students and all those involved in integrative and sustainable processes for the social and spatial organisation of our coexistence.
