Introduction to the Modeling and Analysis of Digital Technological Consequences
What effects could arise from implanting technology into the body and the increasing evolution of humans into cyborgs? How can Macedonian youth become involved in the U.S. presidential election campaign? When do filter bubbles emerge?
In recent years, many intended and unintended consequences of digital transformation have been observed. The socio-informatics presented in this book deals with the modeling and analysis of such phenomena: it examines the consequences of computational design from interdisciplinary perspectives, particularly those of behavioral economics.
A central tool for analysis is the construction of a visual impact framework, which allows for the assessment of various dynamics and technological consequences in digital transformation. This makes it possible to explain when one can expect a filter bubble, why certain digital technologies capture our attention so effectively, and why software can tempt individuals to influence elections in another country.
The book serves as a foundation for lectures on "Informatics and Society" in computer science, as well as a basis for seminars in social sciences or discussions of digital phenomena in schools. It also offers a new communication method that can be utilized in journalism, politics, or consulting.
