SOKO Autismus stands for a group educational approach to promote social and communication skills in people with autism. The model for the "SOKO groups" presented here are the Social Skills Groups of the TEACCH program in the USA, where offers in this area have been developed and tested for decades. The book contains a wealth of ideas for the design of group offers as well as practical suggestions for the content work. In addition to basic information about social and communicative difficulties of people with autism and a presentation of the concept of SOKO groups, the authors present one SOKO group for children and one for adults with autism/Asperger syndrome. The focus is on the description of the strategies, aids and activities used, which have been developed in concrete work with the children or adults.
