Debi Gliori studied art in Edinburgh and began writing children's books in 1976. She has authored and illustrated numerous picture books. She lives in Scotland with her husband and their five children. Jutta Treiber, born in Oberpullendorf (Burgenland), studied German and English and worked as a teacher. Since 1976, she has been running a cinema and has been a freelance writer since 1988. She has received numerous awards and honors, including the Children's Book Prize and the Youth Book Prize from the City of Vienna, as well as the Austrian Youth Book Prize.
