Who actually owns the airspace? How can one optimally prepare for a journey through the skies? And who ensures that the airspace remains safe and clean? For centuries, people have traveled through the air – first in thoughts and dreams, then with increasingly advanced aircraft and planes. This raised growing questions about orientation and safety when traveling in three-dimensional space: worldwide, organizations and systems for air traffic control have been established. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of air traffic control in Switzerland, the air traffic control company “Skyguide” has published this first guide to airspace in collaboration with the publisher vatter&vatter: “Sky Guide.” The Sky Guide looks back at the past and takes you on the first flight attempts. It sheds light on the future of efficient and ecological aviation and presents unique excursion tips and insider gems from the world of aviation. A true travel guide, indeed.
