Sissa Micheli (*1975) is engaged in the photo and video project MOUNTAIN PIECES. Reflecting History, addressing the themes of war and peace, and confronting viewers with the martial past of the South Tyrolean mountains. The locations of her artistic exploration are selected war zones in the mountain ranges of the Hochpustertal. The focus is on interventions to commemorate the fallen of World War I at the Alpine front and performances for peace. At times, the artist herself takes on the role of the protagonist in her photo and video works. The videos were created in collaboration with the artist Thomas Riess.
