Product details

Jochen Kaiser analyses the emotional level of singers while they sing together with others. The sung songs, as well as the singers, are included in the interdisciplinary research process of this study through hymnological analysis, interviews, participant observation and videos. The atmosphere of singing is characterized by enthusiastic singers who have a strong community experience. The singers become a collective individual, so that individual aspects such as socialisation, life situation and mood for these moments dissolve. The concrete singing and the way the singing is performed determine the experience, sometimes cheerful and physically-rhythmically active, sometimes calming and overwhelmed by the sounds. Singing, so the result, is aesthetic communication despite unavailable parts.
