Simplicity

Less is more, as the saying goes. However, it is often true that simplicity is incredibly difficult to achieve. This enlightening little book presents the ten laws of simplicity for business, technology, design, and everyday life. "Simplicity" is the lifeline in a sea of increasingly complex processes and ever more confusing functionalities. It is not surprising that many people today rebel against technology that has become too complicated for them, whether it's DVD recorders with bewilderingly diverse functions or software with extensive manuals. Yet there are counterexamples: the clear, extremely reduced design of the iPod has laid the foundation for the global success of this small device. However, we sometimes fall into the "simplicity" paradox: we want something that is easy to understand and simple to use, yet it should still offer all conceivable functions.
