Product details
The two-volume collection Silesia in litteris servata, whose title could be translated as Silesia rescued in literary testimonies, brings a series of individual representations of a German literary history of the postwar period that can be described in part as alternative, a literary history that still awaits its Germany-wide discovery and subsequently also relevant appreciation. The individual studies, sketches, and essays provide a diverse picture of a body of literature that, although related to the homeland, breaks through the so often invoked simplistic closure of the homeland. Lower and Upper Silesia as well as in the county of Glatz. With a few exceptions, the basic experience that unites these writers is the loss of their homeland, which for many of them became a barely.
