Silesia in litteris servata

The two-volume collection "Silesia in litteris servata," which could be translated as Silesia preserved in literary testimonies, presents a series of individual representations of a German literary history of the post-war period that could be described as alternative. This literary history still awaits its nationwide discovery in Germany and subsequent recognition. The individual studies, sketches, and essays create a diverse picture of a literature that, while rooted in the homeland, breaks through the often invoked simple insularity of home. This literature was produced by authors of various generations active in Lower, Upper, and Central Silesia, as well as in the County of Glatz. The unifying fundamental experience for these writers is the loss of their homeland, which for many of them is almost unbearable.
