Signaltheorie

This textbook provides a systematic introduction to signal theory and covers the tools commonly used in engineering literature for signal and system description as well as the basic mathematical concepts for interpreting signals as elements of vector spaces and for signal approximation. The content ranges from classical transformations, wavelet transformations and non-linear time-frequency analysis methods to optimal transformations for random signals. The methods are illustrated using numerous application examples from the fields of information processing, signal compression, spectral analysis, noise reduction and parameter estimation.
