Author's Text
Manuel Sauer, a trained landscape gardener, studied landscape architecture in Germany and the USA, where he learned the high art of individual garden design. He gained extensive engineering experience, particularly in project management for various federal and state garden exhibitions in Germany. Today, Manuel Sauer is part of the new generation of independent landscape architects in Germany, mastering both stylish garden design and professional construction management. He plans and realizes gardens and parks across Europe. The certified specialist in pool technology has a particular passion for water gardens. Manuel Sauer has received multiple awards (BSW Award 2009, Red Dot Award 2010) and is a nominee for the highest German design award in 2011, the Design Prize of the Federal Republic of Germany. He regularly publishes articles on current issues in garden architecture, gives expert lectures for his architects' chamber, and conducts planning workshops in Southern Europe. Manuel Sauer is the owner of Terramanus Landscape Architecture in Bonn.

Blurb
The topic of privacy screens has rapidly evolved into a new flagship discipline in garden design. Where simple hedgerows or slatted fences once blocked the view to neighbors, garden designers today plan elegant sight windows made of glass, steel, stone, and sculpted shrubs. The ideas presented astonish with their variety, originality, and – a new trend in privacy screens – increasingly with multifunctionality. Thus, the obligation to create a privacy screen for neighbors simultaneously results in a stunning outdoor fireplace, a modern fountain, a fascinating light object, or simply additional storage space. In addressing the important question of which privacy screen best meets individual needs on-site, this book serves as a unique aid during the orientation and planning phase.
