Shipwreck

A man is standing in a bar somewhere in America, holding a drink in his hand - someone stands with him and begins, unasked and uninvited, to tell a story, his story, how quickly it becomes clear: North's story of the shipwreck. So North is the name of this other one, a writer from New York. He can't complain about lack of success, his books are in circulation all over the world, and he is currently working on a screenplay based on George Eliot's Daniel Deronda. But something seems to bother him, which he now wants to get rid of - towards the stranger to whom he opens up in that bar, piece by piece. In the middle of old Europe, in Paris, where a film is being made based on one of his books, North has met a woman, Léa, a supernatural sensual being, whom he, far older than her, has desired from the first moment. But what begins magically soon becomes a ghost.
