Dominic Salt lives with his three children on a deserted island, somewhere between Australia and Antarctica. As the small piece of land is slowly being swallowed by rising waters, the research team, which included Dominic, has long since departed. Soon, the family is also supposed to return to the mainland. But then, on a stormy night, a woman is washed ashore. She is severely injured, almost frozen. Who is the stranger? And how did she end up on Shearwater?
