What remains of the sexual revolution? The contributions in this volume examine the transformation of sexuality in the German-speaking world since the 1960s. Using concepts such as the politicization, therapeuticization, and normalization of sexuality, as well as the questions of its emotionalization, somatization, and alignment with the ideal of partnership, the value of knowledge derived from process-oriented contemporary historical research, as well as the history of knowledge and the body, is assessed. By exploring the various facets of the sexuality apparatus since the 1960s and their sometimes much older history, the contributions aim to critically and historically interrogate the thesis of a sexual revolution.
