Paolo Eleuteri Serpieri was born in Venice in 1944. He studied art and architecture in Rome, where he also taught for a long time. In 1966, he began a highly regarded career as a painter. In 1975, he found his way into comics with Western stories, such as "The White Indian Woman" and "The Medicine Man." He contributed to the famous Larousse comic non-fiction books as well as the large edition of the comic Bible. The world-renowned erotic series "Druuna" was started by Serpieri in the early 1980s. By the way, Serpieri made sure to immortalize himself in the world of Druuna... as his alter ego: Doc.
