Enabling everyday actions: the guidelines of occupational therapy as tools for practice, education, and science. Improving practice, enhancing quality of care, saving costs, and increasing client satisfaction: the demands on therapeutic health professions are high. Practice guidelines provide information and interventions—systematic and evidence-based. They support all healthcare staff in their decision-making and promote a system oriented towards the quality of healthcare. The guidelines of occupational therapy are based on peer-reviewed interventions primarily from Level I to Level III studies. The editor and translator of the German edition are experienced experts from practice, research, and education.

Volume 14: Sensory Integration in Children and Adolescents. The body and environment send signals that we perceive through our senses, which our brain processes in a way that enables us to act and develop. The journey from perception to processing and action is long and fraught with potential disruptions. Sensory-integrative occupational therapy focuses on the child's development, challenging and supporting them in their daily life where sensory stimuli intervene: during play, movement, and behavior.
