To change the world, one must change the way the world is created, which means altering the vision of the world and the practical operations through which groups are produced and reproduced. Discrimination based on gender in the labor market is a widely discussed issue. In my work, I described gender relations in the labor market from the perspective of women who have chosen self-employment. I examined the phenomenon of this form of employment from several aspects. I focused on the reasons why women decided to become self-employed, the obstacles they face, the advantages associated with self-employment, and the relationships among entrepreneurs. My main goal was to characterize the phenomenon of self-employment to determine whether it could change the unequal access to economic power in the labor market and consequently in the entire social order.
