The new edition of the commentary comes three years after the previous edition, taking into account that, on one hand, the legislator is increasingly modifying the regulatory content of the Criminal Code, and on the other hand, the judiciary is continuously refining the interpretation of the relevant norms. The goal of providing practitioners and students with a tool to quickly and reliably inform themselves about the current state of legislation and case law can only be achieved if the commentary keeps pace with legal developments. The underlying concept of this work has been maintained unchanged.

In particular, the following have been taken into account:

• Extensive current case law on the entire criminal law, including the current practice of the European Court of Human Rights regarding criminal measures
• Criminal Framework Harmonization Act
• Revised sexual criminal law
• Revised stock corporation law in relation to the criminal provisions of the Criminal Code
