The Swiss Idiotikon is an institute dedicated to the research and documentation of the German language and its dialects in Switzerland. Its main task is to compile the dictionary of Swiss German in both printed and digital forms. This work describes the Alemannic vocabulary in Switzerland from the late Middle Ages to the 21st century. With 16 completed volumes containing over 150,000 entries, it is the largest regional dictionary of the German language.
