The textbook serves as a guide for instruction and is to be understood as an offering of possibilities. The content is divided into four thematic blocks: assessment and review, foundational concepts, deepening and continuation, as well as projects. The projects can be carried out at any time during the school year. The accompanying volume describes the significance of each thematic block before the corresponding section in daily practice. All thematic blocks include the three content competency areas of the curriculum 21: Numbers and Variables, Shapes and Space, as well as Sizes, Functions, Data, and Chance. This also applies to the three action aspects of Operating and Naming, Exploring and Arguing, as well as Mathematical Modeling and Representing. Solutions to the textbook The solutions to the exercises in the textbook are provided in the accompanying volume with comments for teachers. The solutions can be made available to students without comments if needed.
