Schweizer Grand Prix Design 2023

Etienne Delessert, born in 1941 in Lausanne and currently living and working in Lakeville (Connecticut), gained recognition in Paris and New York for his advertising campaigns and posters, and later for illustrations, animated films, and images. He has illustrated over 80 books that have achieved worldwide success.

Eleonore Peduzzi Riva, born in 1936 in Basel, worked as a designer for major manufacturers such as Cassina and Artemide. The modular sofa DS-600 from 1972, one of her most famous designs for De Sede (together with Ueli Berger, Heinz Ulrich, and Klaus Vogt), reflects her ambition to provide people with the means to shape their own living environment.

Chantal Prod'Hom, born in 1957 in Lausanne, founded the Asher-Edelman Foundation in the 1990s, where she showcased visionary exhibitions featuring lesser-known artists, and traveled the world in search of design talents for Benetton's Fabrica. From 2000 to 2022, she directed the Musée cantonal de design et d'arts appliqués contemporains (mudac) in Lausanne. Through her tireless commitment to design, she significantly promotes and shapes its public perception.

In 2023, the Federal Office of Culture honors the work of the three with the Swiss Grand Prix Design. This book presents them through concise texts and conversations, along with short biographies, each illustrated with a series of images, some of which have not been published before from their archives.
