The Swiss Idiotikon is an institution dedicated to the research and documentation of the German language and its dialects in Switzerland. Its main task is to compile the dictionary of the Swiss German language in both printed and digital formats. This work describes the Alemannic vocabulary in Switzerland from the late Middle Ages to the 21st century. With 16 completed volumes so far, containing over 150,000 entries in total, it is the largest regional dictionary of the German language.
