In line with the KMK educational standards and curricula, the new world of numbers has been developed through intensive collaboration with teachers who have implemented the concept of holistic mathematics education and provided suggestions for further development. Process-oriented competencies such as problem-solving, reasoning, and communication are specifically cultivated. The areas of combinatorics, chance, and probability are considered from the very beginning. A systematic course in practical mathematics and authentic, increasingly open real-life situations assist in exploring the environment. The course offers suggestions for joint teaching phases and individual follow-up work, allowing all children to engage with the same topic at different levels. The categorization of tasks by requirement areas helps to find the appropriate task for each child.
